The process which can change the shape and size of billet greatly compared with the active manuscript is also the main deformation process in the free forging process. Such as:

The basic process

1) Upsetting -- the process of reducing the billet height and increasing the cross-sectional area.
2) Drawing length -- the process of reducing the billet cross-sectional area and increasing the length.The drawing process can also be called "extension".
3) Punching -- the process of forging through or half through holes on the blank.
4) Reaming -- the process of reducing the wall thickness of hollow billet and increasing its outside diameter.
5) Mandrel drawing length -- the process of reducing the wall thickness of hollow blank and increasing its length.
6) Bending -- the process of bending the blank into the specified shape.

7) Roundness -- the auxiliary order to eliminate the drum shape after upsetting the cylindrical blank and make its shape more orderly.
8) Misshift -- an auxiliary process that stagger one part of the blank relative to another, but still keep the axis parallel.
9) Twist -- the auxiliary process of turning one part of the blank around an axis with respect to another.
10) Cutting -- the auxiliary process of cutting (chopping) or partially separating (splitting) the blank.
11) Forging - The process of two blank pieces being heated to a high temperature and forged and welded together, also known as "fire drawing" and "fire cooking".

Auxiliary process

Pre-deforming processes before the billet is put into the basic process: such as ingot chamfering and neck chamfering, pre-pressing central clamp handle, step shaft parting and forging indentation, etc.

Finishing process

The process used to refine the size and shape of the forgings so that they fully meet the requirements of the forgings drawing. For example, after upsetting the drum and truncated roller, convex, concave and uneven and indentation surface level, end surface level, long after the bending straightening and forging skew correction procedures.
